Miami’s fast-growing ultra-prime real estate sector will see a new 50-storey, Thai-inspired luxury skyscraper delivered by upscale hospitality brand Anantara, which owns a number of five-star resorts that served as the filming locations for hit HBO show White Lotus set in Thailand.

These include Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas and Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort, echoes of which reverberate across the 50-storey tower.

The project is being delivered by Miami-based luxury developer One Thousand Group, behind some of the city’s most iconic residential towers, together with Minor Hotels – Anantara’s parent company. Anantara Miami Resort and Residence will be the hotelier’s first US landfall.

Overlooking Biscayne Bay and sitting at the interception of Miami’s sharpest Edgewater, Design District and Wynwood neighborhoods, Anantara Miami Resort & Residences will deliver a concentrated shot of Thai-inspired luxury across a 50-key hotel, taking up the building’s first three floors, 100 private branded condominium residences and 120 resort residences that owners can make available to hotel guests.

A gateway into the city’s waterfront high-rise district, the tower will be the tallest structure rising to 635 feet, capitalising on its lofty stature with unobstructed northern views of Biscayne Bay and crowned by rooftop pools and a helipad.

External design is being led by architecture studios KPF (of Atlantis, The Royal and One Vanderbilt in New York, pedigree) and ODP Architecture & Design with interiors dressed by Spanish architect du jour, Patricia Urquiola – her first project in the US.

Thai DNA is honoured and externalised through a tapered tower with its glass façade, which reveals bronze-hued terraces on all floors arranged in a sinewy configuration that conveys a sense of movement across the building.

Internally, residences have been designed to promote “ancient healing and modern longevity,” offering residents a glamorous slice of Thailand against the backdrop of one of the ritziest coastlines in the US.

Continuing Thai-inspired cultural and service immersion, Anantara’s signature ‘ancient healing’ wellness heritage makes its home in the podium.

The new tower’s strongest value proposition in an increasingly crowded luxury skyrise market, the urban sanctuary will blend traditional Thai healing principles backed by modern vitality and longevity amenities specialising in movement, nutrition and recovery. Premium retail and dining will sit at street level.

Renderings of the skyscraper show a lush podium with a recessed, glass-clad entrance on the ground floor. Topping the podium will be pools, decorative ponds and supporting columns.

Sales are expected to launch to the public in Q4, 6202 with the developer selecting Sotheby’s International Realty as the exclusive sales team for the project.

“Anantara Miami Resort & Residences introduces something entirely new to the US,” said Kevin Venger, co-founder of One Thousand Group alongside Louis Birdman and Michael Konig. “It’s not just another branded residence.”

Venger is referring to Anantara tower’s wellness-first offering – a calculated long ball to secure market share from competing branded residences by positioning itself as the ‘longevity anchor’ in a crowded Miami market.

Anantara, which means “without end” in Sanskrit, launched in 2001 in Thailand and has grown to more than 50 culturally immersive properties in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Miami’s status as the world’s foremost destination for international residential capital is not in dispute.

Notable launches include Aston Martin Residences, Porsche Design Tower & Bentley Residences Waldorf Astoria Residences, Cipriani Residences, Baccarat Residences and Fouqet’s Hotel & Residences.
